The comics are a fucking travesty these days.

Where’s a comic as pure and artistic as Calvin and Hobbes? Where’s a comic half as knowledgeable as the Far Side? The closest thing we have these days to a classic comic is Peanuts, which is obviously just reprints now.

Has anyone read the shit they pump out these days? There’s a hodgepodge of Far Side wannabes, Garfield/other mindless Garfield-esque shit … I mean, the fact that Crock exists is a sad reflection of society, much less comics. Sure, a few decent ones have stuck around, and those’re the ones that don’t try (so painfully unsuccessfully, like the majority of them). But even then, that’s talking about one or two on a page of over a dozen.

Fuck, man. Fuck.

I tried reading comics recently and I almost threw up.

I want Foxtrot, Calvin and Hobbes, and Far Side back on a daily basis
